This little Winchester belongs to a friend of mine and I am happy for the challange of doing something to help save it! It was neglected for quite a while AFTER it was abused by a half-hearted attempt to re-blue it, but she was sure I could save it.
Although it will never be a collectible because of previous damage, it will be a nice gun to shoot some target with and pass on to another generation.
Because of the damage the owner has decided to go with a custom personalized stock when it is finished.

Here you can see sanding marks that were left in the steel.

And they sanded away almost half the logo.

Even the sight and crown are damaged.

Inside is as bad or worse

It is starting to come back to its old glory. Still a lot more to get it done.

Not perfect, but my first engraveing job to get the logo back in place.
If you look back a few pics, someone had nearly erased it in a previous re-blueing attempt.
