This old colt revolver was his fathers gun. All he wanted was to freshen the
old checkering to give a better grip, and not look "new". |
Keith: I just got home and I put the grips on the gun. They fit like
a glove. They make my gun look much more expensive. As soon as I get a chance I will take a picture of it and and send it to you. I would not hesitate to recommend your work to anyone, they look marvelous. Thanks for all you help and patience in making sure they fit. When I send the pictures you can put them on the web with my name and anything you want to say as to the quality. Thanks a lot.\ Billyz |

This gun has a story |

This is the only pair I have had a complaint on. The owner wrote to say there was just a slight overhang on a bottom edge, and could have had just a hair more at another spot. But they still "fit better than a machine made pair he paid much more for earlier", and would not return them for a free re-make. The wood is Walnut from a crotch section, which makes the rich patterning in the grain. |
Keith, I got em'. They look like crap. Just kidding, they are great. I installed them on two of my stainless models. I will take pictures in the next few days and post them if you do not care. I bet you will get alot more orders. You do fine work. Your checkering is very impressive. The poison grips make the pistols look totally different. The color of the poison wood sure looks good with stainless. I used stainless hex head grip screws on them. I will let you know when I get the pictures up. Thanks again. Bill |

He also posted 7 different pics of his 45s and this comment at right on the forums. Poison ivy when it becomes the heavy vines seen on trees in the woods has a varied color pattern in the wood that ranges from white to green and red. |

" " from the web Here are some pictures of oldmagics work installed on two of my pistols. These two sets are made with poison ivy wood. His work is great. The checkering that he did on one set of grips is as sharp and straight as you will see on any fine rifle or pistol grip. I could not be pleased any more. |
" " from the web... When OldMagics offered a special Gunbroker Forums price for his custom grips I jumped on it so I could have a set of nice Hand Made Wooden grips for my 1911. Thanks to OldMagics they are great and I couldn't be happier with them on my pistol, which will now model them. |

The poor gal that ordered this set for a 1911 sub compact lost them as soon as they
arrived...along with the pistol... Her Husband decided he liked them more than her! |
She also had this Winchester M1906 refurbished and new custom wood made to pass down
to the kids some day. For more on the Winchester project go to this page. |

I received these grips as a birthday present. They fit perfectly, and as you can
see they look as good as they feel. They are a great addition to my Kimber. Now I need to talk to you about my Sig….. Thanks for the custom look, M.R.A. |
What a friend he has eh? Of course the buddy who ordered those great ebony grips with ivory scrimshawed inlays wasnt wanting to be left out, he also ordered a matching set for himself... |

Here is a composite pic of the grips he got for the SIG 238 he mentioned above. |
What does he say about this pair? Keith, Just wanted to let you know I’m really enjoying these new grips. They make the gun look and feel 100% better. I also like the design of the checkering. It puts the checkering where it is needed. The factory grips on this gun sure sucks… But now it is usable without sliding out of my hands. Thanks for all your work on these. Mike |
